Policy & Practice
Alongside academic research, I work with local authorities, policy actors, and community organisations to support more just and inclusive approaches to disaster risk management and urban resilience. My applied work focuses on translating research into practical insights, tools, and engagement processes that inform decision-making.
Local Authority and Applied Research
I have contributed to applied research and policy-relevant projects with local authorities and partnerships working on flood risk management and urban resilience. This work has involved supporting evidence-based decision-making, engaging with policy officers, and reflecting critically on how justice is operationalised in practice.
Participatory engagement and capacity enhancement
A central feature of my policy and practice work is the use of participatory approaches to support dialogue, learning, and engagement around complex risk issues. This includes designing and facilitating workshops, community-based activities, and serious game sessions that bring together diverse perspectives.
Knowledge exchange and advisory work
I contribute to knowledge exchange activities that bridge research, policy, and practice, including providing advisory inputs, delivering presentations, and facilitating collaborative learning spaces. My focus is on supporting reflexive governance approaches that recognise lived experience, cultural difference, and structural inequality.
I am open to collaborating on policy, research, and engagement related to disaster risk management, climate adaptation, and community resilience.
